Hi Garbutt,
Interested in that unit how big is the screen and do you get any sun glare on it.
How does the oziexplorer run.

Garbutt,

I have a PDA and use ozi and am looking for something top use around town....I looked up the website for I-go, but it does not appear to have the basemaps for Australia??? Have you overcome this or are you using it in another country?

Cheers,

Mark

Nugget it is a 4 inch screen, I use it with a bluetoth GPS receiver so you can mount the PDA anywhere you like, away from sunglare.

Mark, I have Aussie maps on the I-go, thats how I got it. Bought it from member Blaze who has local puter shop.

Mongrels! sorry to hear that. I have just bought a new Magellan explorist XL and am too frightened to leave it in the vehicle when I lock and leave. Now I have heard this I will definitely not leave it on the dash... Nav.

Maybe a Garmin Quest 2 would fit the bill? Maybe.

tdf

Have a look at the HP Ipaq RX5765.

Comes with TomTom. Just ad OziexplorerCE.

Can also be connected to laptop and you can then use moving map on the laptop.

It is also portable so can be used when out of the vehicle.

thankyou for the replies BTW the bloke that repaired the window said that mine was the fourth vehicle he had attended yesterday all front left windows also he advised me no use taking the gps out of the car if you leave the bracket in view they still break in to look for the gps which you may have put out of site somwhere.made sense to memwill be removing the bracket from now on.

Last week while dropping my daughter off for her 10 day "Outward Bound" course one of the ute's parked at her school actually had a sticker on the back of it which read.
"This ute is a GPS free zone" I would guess to deter exactly what happened to you tdf.
Regards Andrew.

I have an IPAQ 5765 with integrated GPS. It happily runs OZI CE and the natmaps. The Tom Tom software that comes with it is good also.

All accessories come with the package - windscreen mount, car charger etc.

It is a good unit.
