Hey there,
When i return from Paris, the better half & i will head to
Broome (from

broome and explore surrounding areas. I used to live in
broome, but never ventures out, and would like some info on possible 2 to 3 day, day trips out of
broome. Any ideas appreciated.

Barn Hill Station, 130k.s south of
Broome is an excellent working cattle property with caravan /
camping on ocean.
Not 1st class but a friendly
park and I mean friendly.
Lots of boats launch off
the beach and saw some good catches while we were there.
They have basic cabins too.
Bowling green at
Barn Hill camping area on right
Very popular spot .

We have done 3 trips up the GRR as far as Manning Falls which is behind Mt Barnett station, possible to do the trip from
broome in about 12 hours
camp over night then hike to falls the next day. If you leave at lunchtime on the second day it's possible to do a couple of the other gorges on the way back before
camping for the second night returning to
Broome after 3 days. Makes a nice getaway for a few days, call in a see me at The Old Zoo Cafe in
Broome and can tell you more.

Dont miss
Cape Leveque and Middle
lagoon, 2 days at the cape and 2 at Middle
lagoon makes a nice spell from booring
Broome. Road is about 1/2 dirt and 1/2 bitumen could probably take your boat up there with the nissan if its not too big.

Hey Wayne-o,
As you know there are some excellent
places to see above
Broome. We were there last October, as part of our round Australia trip. Just above
Broome, off the
Broome Cape Leveque rd, be sure to stay a while at
Quandong Point and
James Price Point.
Everyone raves about
Cape Leveque, but the other great spots to visit are Lombandina, Middle
Lagoon,
Beagle Bay and One Arm Point. They are all Aboriginal communities and usually require a small visitors fee. But they are good value. The
camping was great at Middle
Lagoon, and it wasn't too crowded.

Hope this helps.. enjoy your time back with your family
