I have been comparing the boundary map of the Martu Native Title with my Hema Maps.

Roughly it borders 121 degrees East and 126 degrees East, 21 degrees South and 24 degrees South

Parts of the Gary Hwy, Gary Junction Road, Talawana Track, Part of Rippon Hills Road, Telfer Mine Road, Punmu Road and road to Kunawarritji are all encompassed within the Title. Title also covers from Murray Rankins Trolley to beyond Well 39 on the CSR.

The Kidson Track does not fall in the title and neither the Eagle Hwy. Interestingly enough, the Warri Site and area west to Constance Headland also falls outside the title.

I wonder just how many permits will need to be requested to travel some of these roads in the future.

Cheers

Morning Willem ,

Are you saying , if you went west from the Warri site like we did , you could still visit the Mungkulu Range ? Can you please give me the web address for the map showing the borders .

Thanks ,

Willie .

PS That area could be covered by another Claim or Determination. Haven't researched that yet

Actually , it looks like they did join the Empire . It's just the NP that has been kept out of the granted area .

Reading through the Native Title "stuff" it says that there was eight title claims to some areas . That means that eight different groups reckoned their ancestors lived in that spot .

So the people sitting in judgement got smart . They decided that they would make them all one group - the Martu - and then there would be only one claim . How simple !
