Hi All
We had some 305 Cooper STTs put on our 100 Series (live axle, 4 inch lift etc) on Tuesday and we have awful vibration through the steering wheel (it shakes badly in your hands) and also it's pulling to the left badly. Phoned the place we had the tyres fitted and they picked it up yesterday and did another balance but the problem is still there. They also said that due to the aggressivness of the tyres that's why it pulls to the left and should stop once the tyres wear in. Now I know I am of the female variety but we had a 75 series with 35 inch wranglers and it drove like a dream. Has anyone heard of the pulling to the left (or right) due to aggressivness of the tyres??? I think its a load of bulldust. Also any idea about the shim in the steering? The tyres have the new technology of sand in the tyres rather than wheel weights. If they can't fix the problem we're going to tell them to take the tyres off and give a refund!!

You are probably better off without the sand and going back to wheel weights.

Bloody guy is now trying to say that it's because of our lift that we are having problems with the tyres/steering etc!!! Get your hand off it mate! We had 33 inch BFG on before the Coopers and there's no difference in height only in width, no probs with handling with the BFGs. Found out they didn't even do an alignment when fitting 6 brand new tyres that's a bit of a crock of crap isn't it over 2 grand worth of tyres and no free alignment, i thought it would be part and parcel of having new tyres fitted.

Have same on my 100. No problems with pulling to the left.
They are harder to balance though.
How do you find the noise V your previous tires?
I only run
mine when going bush.

Hi Wim
Haven't driven the car too much due to the shim in the steering it's a bit tiring trying to hang on!! Drive about 7km to work and back each day and haven't noticed them being any louder than the BFGs, highway will be the big test. We'll have to wait and see what the tyre guy says next week, we're asking for the sand to be dumped and put wheel weights on to see if that 's any different. We have to pay for an alignment, bit of a rort considering the cost of the tyres.
