Given my (almost daily business dealings with Telstra), not even God will be able to answer your question.

If you don't know the phone number you are going to then best bet is to do a search in white pages online for a "smith" or "jones" or other common name in that area. Find one as close as you can to the same street you want and then note the phone number.

Enter this on the utility on whirlpool and it will tell you exatcly what is available down to a list of ISP's.

Yep,

If it was simple, then every one would have it :-)

In essence you need an ADSL 2 DSLAM within 3-5 Km of your residence, and ports available on it.

Cheers

Get a Phone nuber from a place near to yours and see if they could get it ie use a business name listed in the book

ADSL2 is the latest broadband offering that can be accessed via your existing phone line (if available in your exchange)

It is great, speeds of up to 24 mbs (million bits per second). I have it, my service provider is IINET they have information about it on their website including in exchanges it is availalbe.

I connect at 18mbs its very fast, last night I downloaded an episode of desperate houswives for my grilfriend who missed it on monday, the file was 350mb it took 3 minutes and 20 seconds to download, WOW!!

Thanks for the info , I did find that Westnet has ADSL2 also when I went to the website today . It;s getting better all the time, why does the Labor Party want to spend all this money on Broadband when we already have it ????

Because Doug the Labour Party also believe that our Public Hospital system is in good health so obviously they need to spend the money on something they think is crook....
Now onto my soap box for the day, the bloke running the ACT has said he is gonna spen 1% of our budget on "street art" rather than spending the 1% on something that we need....

needs your phone # and or your address and the system comes back with the availabilty or otherwise

I have ADSL at Narangba but haven't heard that ADSL2 is available where I am in Narngba Valley. Probably too far from the exchange!
