Thanks everyone for the help so far but more needed.
Did a trial pack of all our stuff for our 12 months camping trip.
Car looked very low. On further inspection the rear is resting on bump stops, oops. I am suprised as no extra fuel, water or food in yet. Maybe
the springs are old and sagging. What is the best and or most economical option. Air shocks, springs, shocks?
Cheers

Hi Redup, I had a 90 'L' wagon used for bush work and towing a 12' Jayco Camper van.
I had a lift kit fitted ( from Subamods in Vic.). but also I got a set of heavier rear springs from Webb Springs in
Adelaide, I think they were only about $90.00 a pair ( 6 years ago).
that fixed it ( easy to fit) and even fully loaded with 3 jerry cans in a rack across the back ( Simpson trip) it was still OK.
Also had a 82 model and we used to wind up the back and fit Monroe Air Shocks.
That was better but with the "L" , it is heavier springs.
Cheers Des.

That is great.
So you think Springs not air shocks?
What is the ride like when you were not full loaded?
Cheers.

Hi, The ride is a bit firmer but more stable , but is quite good ,
the springs I had were progressive wound.
I would go that way again.
Cheers Des.
