Have used Mobil oil, for years, but in the last 12mths have seen depots , and servos taken over by United, who now i believe want to stock valvoline products.
Unless i go to K-mart and buy 5L , the days of getting what i want in 20l drums has gone, around here, (central coast NSW). Its annoying when you have faith in a product and have to change. Bp have taken over Burmah servos around here as
well, and someone told me caltex supply most of them anyhow?. What a merry go round!!. Dunno, fill her up pay the money, why worry, the Goverment backs down to these companys what hope has the public got?
Cheers Axle.

Hi Axle,
Valvoline products have a very good reputation. Seen some tests recently I think on the Paj
forum where valvoline durablend was rated as the best value for money oil
Cheers Pete

My brother inlaw said the same thing, he was a rep for valvoline years ago, and witnessed some interesting tests.

Oh
well, times change. They did a few years ago. Scotts Tport used to bring it in from
Adelaide, but I just found out that the
Adelaide refinery ceased production operations in mid-2003. Probably explains why the change in supplier. Nothing wrong with Caltex products either.

Oils are oils Mr Axle
My supplier was selling Fuchs Titan oils. Their wholesale price increased beyond the pale and last time I was in there he had Mobil. So Ibought that. Me
old truck runs just as sweetly.
I don't think that different brands are going to be all that different. Will it make a difference in 500,000 kilometres? Doubt it.
My thoughts
Cheers

Unless you drive the finicky TD Jackaroo, then the choice is not so easy!

Not oil, but coolant ..
When I was working for Chemtrans, I used to take tanktainers of coolant from ICI botany to a place in Wetherall Park that bottled the stuff...
Going from memory, they had 3 production lines and 2 tanks out the back, and all the coolant went into 3 bottling lines - the only thing that changed was the dye and the bottles - the coolant went in to some large company bottles, same as the cheap crap brands...
I was happy, I used to fill 20ltr drums out of the hoses when you filled and unloaded and sold it to mates mechanical workshops :)~
Wouldnt suprise me if simlar things happened in other products.

Good trick but I wouldn't go around telling people! The owners would take a different point of view, I suspect.

Better it be in Truckster's drums than spilled over their yard, methinks.
A great service by the Truckster for the environment, I reckon......
