Hi I was supposed to be going away this morning and woke to find my waeco CF50 had stopped running on the 240 volt plug. Ive tried the 12v and no luck there.
Its completely dead,no flashing at all.
It was working fine when I checked it at 5pm yesterday.
Is there a fuse and if so how do you get to it?

Hi
Ross,
SOmetime the plug in to the side of the fridge has a bad contact. You can try giving that a wriggle.
Otherwise does it come on when you flick the bypass switch? If it does then the control circuit is faulty.
I don't think there are any simple fuses on them, but there is one soldered to the electronics board I believe.
Cheers
Mickey

I'm sure you will find a fuse in the cigarette lighter plug end. I have a WAECO 45ltr & it has this fuse.
Check the fridge end of the lead with a multimeter to see if it is getting power.

Ross,
there will definately be a fuse in the lighter socket end plug. Its not glass, I think its ceramic, with a thin metal line.
Plug that fits into fridge likely culprit, it was in
mine.

Sometimes the CF50 goes to sleep when plug is dislodged.
Simply hit the on switch and see how that goes.
It happened to me and I took it to Waeco and they showed me what to do

I have a CF45 I am not using anymore if you cannot get your 50 working. Do not want the world for it. Seems to be a shame someone cannot get to use. Not used much.

Sorry for the late reply. I rang
Ranger camping that morning and was told there is no fuse ,even though it says fuse on the plug panel.
They asked me to bring it down and their resident fridge expert found the dead fuse.
So we put a new fuse in and still no go,but got it it to work on another 12V outlet.
Further investigation found a loose wire on the 12V plug in the rear of my ute.
Rainer ,The fridge was central to my trip as I had already chosen and bought the food and as I was staying about 70klms from Mt Magnet in the bush.
It would have meant leaving the following day as I needed daylight to set up and it was a good days drive.
I took some spare fuses for the fridge but had no need of them.
Still a mystery why the fuse blew on while plugged into the house current.
