I have a 2006 Landcruiser GXL TD with 17in alloy
wheels. I want a second set of
wheels for off-road work.
Will the previous model 16in
wheels fit with the 14mm studs that my vehicle has?
If I could find a second hand set of original 17in
wheels that would be my preference, but they are just not out there.

Ray,
The 2006 poverty pack still has 16" split rims as standard, so they should fit no worries.
Might pay to borrow one from somewhere, to try it out for brake clearence to be sure, but I think you will find it will bolt straight up no worries.

Thanks Stu, I will try to borrow a wheel and try it, just to be sure.

The 16 inch
wheels will fit straight on as this vehicle when released came with 16" steels and then the 17" came as a mid model update to help flagging sales.
Just make sure the
wheels come from an IFS cruiser though as the rigid axle has different offset.

My concern is whether they also changed from 12mm studs to 14mm studs when they went to the 17in wheels. I will try one if I can find one to borrow.

I have a 2006 LC100 IFS with the 17" alloys. I purchased a 2nd hand set of IFS 16" steel
wheels and fitted them with MT tyres. The stud size is no different to my last 2001 IFS LC100 with 16" rims and I had no problems with fitting the 16" steel rims to my new LC100.
Cheers.
