G'Day Craig, my father has a 91 hzj 75 ute and gets 6.5 to 7.5 pretty much all the time depending on his load e.g. caravan or not. Cheers

Hi Craig
guess it depends on how you drive, i have owned two hzj75's, now have 78 TD.
Flat to the boreds in NT, i got it down to 4km/ltr=25ltr/100km
Driven normally :))) expect to get 6.5-7km/ltr.
Cheers Lyndon

Hey Craig
I have owned 6 of them (currently 4 ) 1hzjs, I have never got better than 19.1 lts per 100 km, with or with out a load at 105 kph.
My newest one GXL has 76000 and did 19.1 the other day with 2 pax no roof rack at 105 kph, it got 21.3 at 130kph.
Cheers Steve.

My 78 gets about 12-14 avg. Our much abused work utes - 75s - get about 16-18... But that is with big loads and driven by crazies. Out here when diesel prices rise so does consumption - but that is cause of the stealing...
Cheers,
Gil

90 Hzj75 troopy varied from a best of 13l/100 to 18 -19l/100k depending on load and whether towing a small camper trailer or not. speeds were usually in the 90 -95 kph range.
Consumption skyrocketed if you went any faster than 95 and over the 100 mark.

On a trip, fully loaded, no trailer or roofrack and not exceeding 100K/h, and steady as she goes (ie grandma driving) I regularly get 10K/100km.
Mine's a 1Hz motor in an 80 series non turbo.

I've got a 1HZ series 80 standard cruiser with 495000 km's and it averages 10 ltr per 100 if driven sensibly. They do get thirsty if you exceed 100 km/hr though. I am happy with the truck, its pretty economical for a 2 ton machine.
Cheers, Udo

80 series non-turbo 1HZ here, get between 12-14L/100km. Average is about 13.5, on highway runs it gets down to 12.

95 1hz average 12.5 lt per 100km , but could probably get better results with a lighter foot !
