We’re just back to Switzerland after a 12 month trip around and across Australia. Travelled 42’000 k’s mainly on tracks and gravel roads off the bitumen. We had a year without any trouble or bad experiences (even no flat tyre on the whole trip!).

We ramble back and get lost in thoughts when we try to sort out all the thousands of photographs we took on our trip.

I just started to document our trip in the www with the magical Simpson Desert.

I’ll even try to write some comments in english. So please ignore all the mistakes in my spelling and feel free to keep them.

Thanks to all the people we met on the road, on campfires or in the pub for their amiability, advice and helpfulness! We hope to be out in the bush again in the future.

Hi Reto,
Great to see overseas guys enjoying the Aussie out back and it seems you had a great trip.Your rig pics are very good and the reason you had no problems is that you chose the right vehicle and obviously prepared well.Come back soon and see some more.

G'day Reto
Great pics- and by the sound of thing you had a good time too.
Just for your info- I met a couple at Coober Pedy in '05. They were just about finishing their trek around Oz. The 'lady' worked at the Land Rover dealership in Neuchatel. He was a stainless steel/ aluminium fabricator. Yes- they were in a Landy, and yes it was equipped like an operating theatre. The vehicle was set up similar to the G4 challenge ones. Maybe if your in that part of the country- you may look them up and if you said 'G'Day'- I'm sure you could share some stories.
