I have a Landcruiser camper van with a hardtop which make my car quite high. I plan to do a trip to Kalgoorlie using the 4WD track between
Wave Rock and
Norseman and also the one north of Kalgoorlie going back to
Coolgardie.
Do you have some feed back on those tracks or any good advise to drive these ways ?
I'm also interrested by any recommendations on nice place to see / visit on the way.
Thanks

Are you talking about the old road from
Norseman; about 19 kms to the north and unmaintained 4wd only track? This joins the road from Lake Johnson to Kalgoorlie, then the rest of the way to
Wave Rock uses on the same road as the way we have travelled according to the map. This is taking the new road which leaves from closer to
Norseman The new road between
Hyden and
Norseman is a good dirt road,
well maintained for the mining co. road trains, which are the main
hazard as their roar through, knowing the road is their's. Interesting tourist trail of features is
well signed. We backed out with the caravan when we got to the unmaintained
4wd only sign on the old road - my husband said i had no spirit of adventure. If you take it, let us know what it is like, then maybe next time!
I can't comment on the Kalgoorlie -
Coolgardie route.
