Hahahahahahaha

My very first post reply on this forum in 2002 was about the Landrover having the worst reliability statistics.

(It caused an uproar with a Landy specialist and this bloke hounded very post I made for about two years. Then he changed and became friendly...lol)

Cheers

Interesting how the 3-9yr old Korean vehicles faired against the Euro brands, esp as they probably number 2 to 1 on the roads. Not quite there with the Japs, but surprisingly good.
SWMBO has an 02 Elantra as mums taxi, and it's been a top little jigger, although it has contributed to hyundai's stats (RF strut froze solid after 65k & thermostat jammed shut around the same time)

cheers

Willem,

98% of all Land Rovers sold are still on the road. The other 2% have made it home.

I am just glad toyota did not come 1st, we already have to endure the stink of "durability" & "reliability" everytime a discussion is entered into (they are the only two words toyota salesmen actually know), imagine how bad it would be if they were up top!

It doesn't matter that they weren't on top, they were above Nissan. LOL

Cheers Steve.

Hi Steve,
Being a UK/USA survey, it wouldn't have included the 4.2 Patrol, as they're not sold there.

Hi Gerry,

Probably just as well, or Nissan could have been lower.......

Yes it will cause some discussion! I've had my 2001 Defender since new and done 220,000kms. It's never let me down - regularly serviced of course. I've replaced a water pump due to slight seapage and a speedo sensor. Original clutch, on only its second set of brake rotors. About 15% off road, 30% towing a float full of alpacas around Victoria, and a fair bit of freeway at 105kph. I love it and will replace it at the end of this year with exactly the same thing.
On the other hand we've got three MB100 Mercedes vans at work which all need injector pump rebuilds at about 120,000kms and a $5,000 clutch job (flywheel has to be replaced). Everyone will have their own story but it's all lively discussion.

Must say I was intrigued that the Kia range was well up on the list, since I am going to have a serious look at the Sorento Diesel when it finally gets here, as a replacement for the Jack.

Presumably a comparison of factory warranty would have Nissan on top - since they never accept a warranty claim?
