Hi Laura

You probably need to do both - but you certainly should not try to "repair' sagging springs with airbags. Most find that putting in a set of say 50mm lift springs of a medium grade will give you more space under the car which you need on the rough stuff and carry you empty and with moderate loads and reasonable comfort. If you have Polyairs, you then can keep the car pretty level when you have the big loads for the Canning trip.

That worked well for us on our 80 series, and I think a lot of other people do it that way too. We used it for off road camping trips including the Canning and also for leveling up with a camper trailer.

But don't expect the Polyairs to carry overloads.

All the best

ours aren't original...shoulda said that hey....and not sagging either - they've only done 15,000km..they are ummmm...forget...3'' lift though...kings springs and ultima big bore shocks........i just happened to notice today in our photo of the 4b at Curdimurka that the back end was sitting pretty low.

OK Laura - I got the picture a bit wrong. Reckon you ought to try Polyairs in the existing springs - you've really done what I thought of as part one already.

Certainly would not race out and replace brand new springs.
