Hi. I posted a query once previously re my 92 Terrano. Now proud owner of low mileage 99 TDi and have a couple of questions. Looking for CD workshop manual and Member "hoyks" posted a link in Feb. Not now operational, can someone direct me. Also looking ahead, checked and found some parts very expensive. eg alternator over $1600! UK website has them at $180 ($295). Starter motor $125.
Any thoughts?

Can't help with the manual but many "genuine" parts are overpriced.
I own both the '92 model (T1??) and a '97 model TII and I seldom buy genuine parts. Some genuine parts are actually cheaper... but not many.
I had to replace the alternator and had a sparky replace it with the same brand/model as the genuine for $600. (Normally I would do it myself for much less but time wasn't available.)

Thanks for reply. Have seen your posts over time and know you are regarded as Terrano expert. I still have the 92 and will be sad to eventually part with it.
Not a lot of type 11s in WA and hard to find non genuine parts. May come back to you some time for advice.

I can help you with a copy of a workshop manual, do you have a link to starter motors at $125.00.
I also have quite a few options fitted, ie: UHF, snorkel, 2nd battery, pre-filter, rear work light etc, so if you need any advice of help, just ask!

Thanks for reply and offer of further advice. Manual at link is certainly cheap but I am off on Canning Stock Route on 1 June and need to be sure of receipt. Have meanwhile found one that can be downloaded from UK site - more expensive, but immediate, so I think I'll go with that. Re starter, I am afraid I gave a bit of a bum steer. Cost from Milford Offroad, UK is 125 pounds (about $299) and alternator 180 (about $431). They send world wide but I have not checked transport/Customs etc. Will do so after trip, as they have lots of stuff. Have done UHF, suspension, bull bar, cargo barrier, but could not find snorkel to suit so decided could do without. Still interested to know what fits, if you would advise.

Good luck on the CSR.

Have you got a link for Milford Offroad?

Sorry if you spent time looking for milford. They are the cargo barrier people. UK site is Milner. Web address:. Note capitals and incorrect spelling of Terrano.
Catch you later.
