See you all in two months .

I was heading off to the Kimberley via the Plenty and the Tanami , but with so much rain around inland , I will play it safe , and go via Mt Isa and turn west at Dunmarra for Kununurra .

"See you" all again in Mid July - but hopefully I will meet some EO guys and gals on the road , as I know there is a heap of forumites heading to the Kimberley in May , June and July .

Behave yourselves - just kidding - that's boring .

Willie .

Hi Willem ,

I wonder if I will drive into the towns along the way and see children lining the streets to catch a glimpse of Sir Willie . It's the least they could do really - I hope it does not slow down my trip too much though .

I have put your number into my phone . Just confirming it is 0147 and not 0417 ???

I should be coming through Alice on July 12 or 13 and will call you .

I hope all goes smoothly for the national gathering - please organise one for the summer months next time !

Willie

Mike,

Have a safe and enjoyable trip and I hope you find some paydirt to cover the trip. Looks like some of the outback roads may be closed for a bit.
The country folk badly needed the rain and hopefully there may be enough to fill the rivers bit.

Thanks Richard . I think the only nuggets I will get on the trip will be from KFC . But fingers crossed , as the bride might let me go again if I found one for her .

Thanks Alan . It would be good if Willem , you and I could get together for a drink in Alice around 12-14 July .

Have a good time in the Gibson . By the way , I guess you have heard that story about how Giles ate Gibson , so he called it the Gibson desert . WELL , I just finished reading a book by Mountford about his camel expedition into the Mann Ranges in the 40s . The aboriginals showed him where a European was buried after being murdered by his explorer comrade . OOPS ! Da da dada , da da dada ..........

I am under intense pressure to find a nugget to hang around the brides neck , but the rewards will be huge ( more trips allowed then ) .

I will let you know with a detailed account on my return .

Yes Brother , thanks . I have just finished packing . I kept ditching stuff 'cause it was taking up too much room .

I finally got my swag tent up on the roof rack . I had a pole ( detacheable ) put at both ends to hold it up . It's pretty neat .

Cheers ,

Mike

Thanks Marion ,

I should have a good story to tell , as I am actually doing three trips rolled into one . First I am going out to the Kimberley coast to do some fishing , then I am going on a 14 day bushwalk up the Drysdale Gorge to Solea Falls , then , if I survive the bushwalk , I am going gold fossicking for two weeks at Marble Bar .

Cheers ,

Willie .
