Hi folks
On advice from guys on this Forum, I'm looking to source some LHD Headlights for 2004 78 Troopy. I've tried Ebay, Google & tried "surfing" the US market, without certainty. Some I find in the US are 7 inch round for Landcruisers, but are for new extra bright lights, but don't specify a Troopy. Advice?
Thanks-in-advance.

Gday
Thats a hard one...i was going to say swap left for right, and it is probably that easy but you need new backing plates suited for lhd. Send me an email in limo4b at yahoo dotcomdotau and i will send you back a mates addy from over there...who drives a 70.

The beam shape is reversed for LHD so swapping left to right won't fix it.

You can buy the LHD Euro 7" H4 reflectors on ebay very cheaply, they will fit straight into the troopy and will give you the correct pattern for LHD.
They are all plastic with a prism cut reflector and a polycarbonate glass.

Its illegal to use those light in australia as they are designed & focussed to shin & dip to right so will dazzle oncoming cars.

Thank Graham & Lynne
Are you saying it's illegal to drive with the deflectors fitted in Oz?
I wouldn't be intending to.

Sorry Graham & Lynne

For some reason I thought you were addressing the response from Peter 2 above.

I've been advised to
1) apply tape to the headlamps (which I'm following up & I'll try next week)
2) fit plastic covers to the headlamps which will act as "deflectors" to refocus the beams for driving on the RH side of the road (I haven't seriously considered fitting "plastic deflectors" because I'm sure they'd reduce the light emission), &
3) to fit a pair of replacement LHD headlamps (I can't locate sellers of LHD headlights here or in the USA).

If you can help with 3) I'd appreciate it.
Thanks, Roy.

I've tried finding these importers, but with no luck. Any idea how to find/contact?

Look for the importers in the Just cars section, I was given 2 x 7" lights a few weeks back in Adelaide.
Search the yellow pages for right hand conversions ,

Thanks SA Patrol

I just didn't know where to start looking locally for LHD/RHD converters.
I'll do that now.
