I'm very pleased someones getting rain :) .......... should be interesting in about 5 weeks time see what roads are open etc as I am going to be in that whole area for a bit. Some creek crossings might be interesting.
I guess the place will come alive with flowers. Not that i know as never been there yet :).
Cannot wait

You are quite right Dio but I have four friends stranded there and they are no longer seeing the funny side of things. Having been there since Mothers day and no let up in sight, $120 per day to stay in accommodation there when it is under $100 not that far away. They are
well enough equipped for the conditions they expected to encounter at this time of year and have done a double crossing of the Simpson which was no where near the challenge it is made out to be even getting to Geosurvey
Hill and the geographical center of the Simpson. To add to their misseries they are almost out of quaffing Red.

Be a good mate and organise a fuel drop by chopper.
A 44 of red should do it :-)

Ah yes, but what a tale they'll have to tell. I'm sure it will get even better with a few more reds. Bit like some war'ies that do the rounds.

I'm sorry to hear that some people are stuck there. Interestingly enough though, a family we know took their 3 boys and a girl to Inamincka one year, got stuck there for a couple of weeks, and said it was probably the best holiday they had ever had. Food no problems because of all the yabbies, yellabelly and turtles (didn't eat them but caught plenty on worms).
We will be up that way on our first family rough it trip with another family in exactly the same boat (which we might need!) both of us have 2 kids under 3. I see it can go 2 ways - we will either not go up if it's too wet, or go up and have a blast in the beautiful post-rain conditions. Should fire the Callop and Yabbies up too. Can't wait!
