Gooday,
Further to question re above yesterday (Post 45591) in NZ I can advise that we have roaming on our Mobile/Cell Phones with Telstra & got the account today which included the 5 weeks in Kiwi.
"BEWARE" they charge for RECEIVING, as
well as making calls whilst using it over there, EG-:, call from
Sydney received at 7-55am NZ time, call duration 2mins 40 seconds, cost, A$2-40, 14mins 47secs, $9-92.
CALL MADE TO Australia 2-30pm, duration, 22min 26 seconds, couldn't get money from our account at ATM a mere A$74-61, yep A$74-61.
Told you NZ Telecom don't like Telstra & charge accordingly.
I know this happens in many other countries, pay to receive as
well as make calls, US for a start, only a matter of time before they introduce it here I bet.
Happy Chatting.
Chhers,
Boroma604.

Thanks to the guys who replied to my question yesterday.
With respect to Telstra OS roaming function if anybody phones you you pick up the call costs because it's the same as you diverting your phone to your own phone. Similarly if you call out you pick up the cost of the local call then the international call. Sucks but that's just the way that Telstra has it rigged.
Last time we were in NZ we just used public phone box phone cards and they were great and very economical (so to speak).
