Greetings and Salutations all,

Anybody have some experience with Fiamma Caravanstore Awnings. These are an awning that is in a bag and slides into the van/camper etc by way of the aluminium track that awnings normally slide into. Two legs and two spreader/supports that go from the corner to the van wall.

I'm thinking of aquiring one to use with the Kimberley Karavan. Seem to be quick to setup and relatively stable and only weigh 10 kilos for a 3metre length.

Are they as quick as the sales blurb says and stability with some wind and maybe rain?

The idea of this is for the quick overnight stay as opposed to the awning I have that was an option for the Karavan. It is heavier duty and more fiddling about to erect. Better for longer stays.

Cheers
Garth

Hi Garth

I have on of these Site Link and it works well the one I have is over six years old and still looks like new. It is very easy to put up and pull down, the spreader bar also raises the centre of the roof so the water runs off it. It is a very simple design that works.

Have fun

Hi Garth, We have the Fiamma on our Jayco Finch. Legs either attach to campa wall (make sure fittings are attached as high as possible) or peg down... legs are very flimsy and not as sturdy as the Carefree fiesta model that we had on our Jayco poptop. With practice, they're a breeze to erect, but be sure to spend $30 on a pair of 'De Flappers' which prevent the roof from flapping in the wind (very annoying!). I made the mistake of throwing a rope over the Carefree and it cut into (slightly split) the roof edge.
We don't bother erecting ours for overnight stops (lazy) but each to their own.
Wouldn't be without it though.
