Brisbane City Council have had busses running on CNG (compressed Natural Gas) for a number of years now.
I guess that liquifying it is the next logical step.

Hi Stu, I can get my head around biodiesel, but the relationship between diesel and gas is a mysetry to me. As long as I dont have to have that huge tank hanging under the 80 , I'll be right LOL

I was thinking about filling up one tank with biodiesel a while ago, even bought a couple of spare fuel filters, but never got around to it (the nearest biodiesel is
Mossman)
The
places we go, it isn't worth the hassle of mucking around with gas, one would lose to much valuable diesel tank capacity.
Is the 80 still standard capacity? or have you put in the long range tank?

I can go from my place to yours without refuelling 1800 odd KM
Just right for the CSR I'm thinking. Probably will top up a Kuna whatsis settlement though.

When were you thinking CSR ? You'll have no fuel problems if you have diesel. Easy with that K mart in the middle :))

Juneish next year...doing a tag along with Diamantina.
Alice to Alice, via Tanami, CSR, and gunbarrel 18 days.
My 105 carries 270L diesel now. We will go from here to Alice via the plenty Hwy. Could have trouble getting through
Winton, I know too many people there, we may have to stay there a day or so.

As for doing 1800k without refuelling, I'll bet your passengers get awfully irritated when they need to go. Frankly at my stage I need to stop and rest about every 1000K or few hours, whichever comes first :))))

No, they're all good people, just if they found out that I had been through and didn't call in I would be in all sorts of trouble :)))
Call into the
North Gregory Hotel and say G'day to David and Prue for me.

Yep, I pick him up on the 28th June at 3, back here for a quick hello to Jan and a kip, I load him into the 80 at 3am next morning and we're off.
Will say gooday at that pub.
Malcolm will probably need a drink by then...especially if the halfway is closed (not sure if its still open)

Footy
Yes it has been here before.
Unfortunately there are some journalistic 'errors' in the article relating to the history. Hope the GTL will come in at a better price in the future 'cos these days it really hurts to fill the ole truck up. Though, Unleaded is now more expensive than diesel and the price structure has reverted to the old days again!!!
Cheers

Yes Willem, I can sympathize with the hurt felt filling up. Especially in the remote areas where you don't usually have a choice.
Sadly those are just the areas we love to visit.
It seems that it's only hurting those of us who can't compensate by charging higher prices.
Oh
well, even if we havent got the money we've got the time :)
