SEVERE WEATHER WARNING
for damaging winds and heavy rainfall.
For people on Cape York Peninsula north of about Cape Sidmouth.

Synoptic Situation: A tropical low, ex TC Pierre, was located over the
north-west Coral Sea about 420 km east of Thursday Island and was moving
westwards at 15 kph.
The low may produce damaging winds gusts and heavy rainfall about eastern Cape
York Peninsula later today and across all of Cape York Peninsula north of about
Coen overnight and on Tuesday as the tropical low moves closer and then across
the far northern Peninsula.

The next warning is due to be issued by 11am AEST Monday.
