We are in the process of
buying a camper trailer, for travelling around the top end of WA, for an extended period of time. We are quite keen on the Coromal Pioneer Offroad camper trailers and the Jayco outbacks. Can anyone give us some
feedback on either ones? And if anyone has any info on how they are in heavy rain, like do they leak at all?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, forgot to add that My Swag is a new Camper Trailer
forum that was started on the weekend. In time it should become a very valuable source of information like ExplorOz is......

Hi MarkNTroods,
We had the exact same problem. We asked a simlar question and we ended up ordering a Goldstream Storm after advice from replies on this
forum.
The quality of the Goldstream was better than the Coromal and the Jayco. A bit more expensive than the Jayco however simliar price to the Coromal. The final decision which took months was very easy and we cannot wait to get ours. A few months away yet but very excited.
I think it also depends on what your long term goal is with the van as that should have a huge bearing on how much you would want to pay. We spoke to Phil at George Day in Cannington and he was fantastic.

G'day Mark,
Have a look at post: 45455, this was discussed there about a week ago, with me adding my 2 cents worth also.
The only thing I can add to comments back there are your concerns with rain. Have had my Jayco Outback Eagle up in a very heavy rain storm that flooded our
shop and quite a few others around town, Didn't have one drop of water in the Eagle.
Hope this helps.

Not sure what state you are from but you can give Mark at All About Camper Trailers a ring and have a chat. He is building one for me at the moment and I am very happy with the quality. He is located at North
Richmond NSW. I am in the process of building a website for him but it will be a while though.
Very good product and excellent quality. I am happy.

I would hardly call the Coromal Pioneer range "Camper Trailers".
Looking at the Coromal site they appear to be pop top Vans.
The PIONEER Camper Trailer, made in WA however is a Camper Trailer and a very good one at that.

Hi
We have owned an old Jayco swan 1982 and have just purchased a 1996 off road Golf wind up camper trailer. It is like new and very high quality and comfortable with independant
suspension, queen and double bed and many extras.
I have looked closely at all the campers ( wind up style ,with beds that pop out the two ends) and they all have their good features. The old Jayco we had was great and not even off road. The qualit was no where near the Golf or Goldstream but it was a lovely camper that went everywhere almost.
However if you look carefully there are bargains to be had in the 2nd hand market that will save you a lot of money. The Golf ( late 90s models off road ) are
well worth a look. They are similar to the Goldstream in quality from what I can see and are alluminiuin framed with a very strong chassis.
regards Lenni

Hi I have spent the last 6 mths researching campervans and although the Coromal and Goldsteam seem to have better build quality, you really can't go past the Jayco range. Not only do they have great resale value but the upfront price means you can afford to get a few little extra's without breaking the budget.
