Hey folks,
Am "CONSIDERING" purchasing an Ironman 9500lb winch.
I have put the specs side by side with the WARN XP 9.5 and there seems to be little difference, other than $1000 price difference.
Now before i go either way, i would like some feedback/experience from anyone who owns/has owned/junked an Ironman winch.
Thanks in advance

I just had the 12000 lb winch installed on my Troopy.
The winch itself looks the goods although I haven't had a chance to try it yet.
I have just pulled it out and then winched it back on but not pulling a load.
Be careful who installs it.
I had
mine done by a tyre company here in
Townsville who are the local ironman dealer.
They put the control box on top of the removeable cover in the bullbar which lets you view the cable spooling onto the drum.
Also, the screws which go through the bullbar to hold the control box on missed the cable itself by about 5mm. This is fine when the cable is perfectly spooled but that never happens.
I have since had them move the control box but it shouldn't have been done that way to start with.
Cheers, Jack

I have had an Ironman 9500 for about a year now, when I got stuck it pulled me out so I am happy, it has also been useful for a number of other tasks around the house and
farm......
JohnR & Moses has a 12000 which I used yesterday, it only has the cord with the switch on it whereas
mine has a cordless remote, go the cordless any day, it is great.

I had the 12000 installed about 3 weeks ago and I have both the cord and cordless remote.
It also came with the cable dampener which you put on the cable to minimise lash if the cable breaks.
