Welcome to both Nicole and Mark.
Mark,
with that list of goodies on your truck is it any wonder it has taken you so long to join, you've obviously been too busy down the toy
shop to get time to join here.
Regards,
Trevor.

Trevor,
Lots of time in the toy
shop and lots of overtime to pay for it!!! I have gathered a lot over the years and the car was purchased with much already on it....don't you just love those few government departments that put all those goodies on the car, never to use them? This was a city runabout with only 45k km when I got it about 18 months ago.
I've transferred a few bits and pieces off the old Disco as
well.
The other stuff was used in previous occupation as outdoor ed teacher.
Just got to get out and use it a bit more now...
Cheers,
Mark

Thanks Mate,
Been a keen photographer for many years, but only just beginning to learn the art of digital stuff. I would love to get all my slides scanned, but there's just so many of them.....
where to start?
Have a goodie....

Welcome Mark E, great pics and the little hairy fella is almost as cute as the hairless one;D While perusing your 'list,' I noticed that you had a
home-made stretchy storage thing for the back, could I ask if this is like a hammock thingy that hats and the like could be thrown onto when not in use? If so, would you mind telling me what the stretchy material is and what did you use to affix it to your vehicle? I have been trying to find out the best materials to use for something like that for our truck.
TIA OzeSheila.

OzeSheila,
Got some non stretch netting from a net maker in Port
melbourne (Name escapes me at the moment..). Attached to to the cargo barrier with stainless shackles and same with some string to the handles just behind the driver and passenger seats. OK for a couple of jackets, hat etc and sits up above the child
seat in the back. I also use it to hang a few toys to keep the monster at bay on road trips.... ;-)
Whilst it's supposed to be non stretch, it still does stretch somewhat, but works
well for the purpose. If I get a chance tommorrow I will take a couple of pics and post them on my rig page for you. Still havent figured out posting direct to a thread, yet.
Cheers,
Mark

OzeSheila,
Have another look in rig pics and you will see the
pic of the interior cargo netting. I think it shows what you're after. It's quickly removeable also for when you need to
seat adults in the back
seat.
I got the netting from Oxley Netmakers in Port
Melbourne.
Let me know if you would like anything else.
Cheers,
Mark

Thanks Mark, for your prompt and informative response. I have been toying with a design for a while, made a prototype with mosquito netting with tape ties, but it was too big. I'm not sure whether I want a bit of bounce in it or not yet! After seeing the idea in another 4by, I thought it would be ideal for us. As we travel with a passenger, it would need to be smaller though, but would still be practical for our needs. I am sick of trying to find
places for hats/jackets etc., in the front passenger
seat and this seems to be the ideal solution. Someone suggested that I go to a ships
chandler and get the stuff that the crews lean over the side on, on the Maxi yachts to stop the boat from tipping over, if you know what I mean.
OzeSheila.
