Bill I have after market (safari) turbo fitted to my 1hz. 100 series. Do you notice an improvement in the economy and is there any significant power increase. Do you have any stats?

Yep, Had my 2003 79 done. It it a factory turbo. Lots more grunt perhaps a saving on 1 litre per 100 km . . but the power to tow is awesome . . I tow a large horse-float and overtake all the semis up the hills AND in a higher gear.
Lots less gear changes.
I can''t recommend it though if you want to save money.
The 4.2 Nissan does really benefit from it though due to it's indirect injection.
If you just want grunt, then a Dtronic may be the way to go. I have . . . both.
Now I have to watch for speeding tickets . . nearly was 'got' a few weeks ago

Umm, Better fuel economy, LPG = about a 70c/ltr saving. Why no cost saving?
Please explain.
Thanks Lyndon

Sorry I have been away for the WE.
A bit pointless taking photos. The system is really very simple.
Tank under tray, Gas converter next to sidewall that looks just like a car gas converter (
water heated ) a boost detector fitted on the air inlet after the turbo to turn on gas, and a stepper motor that is controlled by a computer that I think takes info from the leads going to the car computer.
After control by the stepper motor the gas goes into the air inlet before the turbo.
Yes I would say it has increased my range by 200 Km.
i now am looking at fitting a larger exaust IF it gives me more power only between 2000 - 3000 RPM

Has anyone got some economics on this? - set-up cost, diesel fuel efficiency, diesel+gas fuel efficiency

Since I have had
mine done, I basically use the same volume of fuel, around 15l / 100km. Now 4l of that is lpg. at 50 odd cents per litreits a saving of $2.00 per 100km. after fed and WA rebates cost me $1200.00.
This equates to 60,000 km to pay back. Not too bad, considering I have increased my range by 200 km (approx 28 litre
tank) and gained about 15 % in power across most of the rev range (dyno).
Without the WA rebate of $1k, about 110,000 km to cover the cost.
Cheers Andrew

G'day Redfive,
We've done a 2004 HJ75 with the 1HD Turbo Charged Stretched 'Cruiser. We picked up around 20% at the rear
wheels & approx 20% increase in economy at the same time. It came up a realy nice fit.
Regards
Dallas Green
