A few Days back someone posted about interference static in his Codan. I too had a noisey background , This today could be conditions or could it be that the Transfer case has been re-built, because today I notice the amount of noise is much less than it ever has been , So ok before you all think I'm getting old and senile ( could be the case ) I can remember back when i was in Trucks on quite a few occasions the Broadcast Radio would slowly get worse with an Alternator Whine, now I noticed this many times and sure as the Sun rises in the East the bloody Alternator would cease to do it's job about 3 months later, I have also experienced this with the Toyota Alternator, I have come to the decision that the Transfer Case/Gearbox could cause or create interference with Radio's if they are wearing out,

Geez.... this is gonna create some back-Slap

Doug,
VKS has noted there is an increased level of static recently. Talk to Charters Towers & Adelaide.

With regard to the transfercase & gearbox, maybe they have improved the earthing somehow with the re-build.

Cheers
