Hi Folks,

Just back from a month away from Ballina north inland via Monto up to Yeppoon and then back filling in places that were hitherto "just meant to look at places on map."

The town of 1770 was one of them. Agnes Waters is about 7km from there. As many of you know we have dogs so the 1770 camp grounds are off limits to us but there is another in 1770 that charges $23 a night plus a $3 one off charge per dog.

Not for financial reasons we chose to stay at a newish 5 year old caravan park 5 km before Agnes Waters. Big sites... friendly proprietors.....quiet... kangaroos to the park, sweet drinking water, pool and laundry etc etc and I enquired... they still have vacancies for this Winter all for $19 a night less for weeks/months. Discovery Coast Carvan & Camping Park (0749747547)

PPS We also managed to take a day cruise out to Lady Musgrave Island (the site of our 10 day honeymoon 22 years ago as part of a primitive (take everything you need) 35 person dive group...pristine island before the fast cats) on a fast cat.... not cheap... $150 a head but it was worth every aged tourist cent...... Caught 2 very decent coral trout and a few Hazzars.

The reason I mention this is that the crusie operation can recommend a day dog sitter lady to look after the babies @15 per dog per day so that we could enjoy a revisit to our island.

Good to be home. Our corridor is twice then length and half the width of the caravan... so it is the caravan.... but then ....it is not half as interesting to park up and see someting new.

Regards

Hi Signman,
Sadly No. Saw the signs but with dogs Np's are off limits unless we do the trip through, twice, but separately, which isn't much fun.
