Hi all
In my upcoming trip to the UK, I'll be covering about 60,000kms on varying types of roads. This is about the plain old tar top that will make up most of the road.
I'm looking for comments on fitting Cruise Control to a 2004 78 Troopy. I know very little about the subject.
Worth it?
Recommendations for type/brand?
Any tips of any kind?
Thanks in advance.

Should have said, Troopy is Diesel, no turbo.

Hmmm, bearing in mind some of the areas you will have to cross maybe Cruise Missile Control might be more useful.
(Ignore me - I'm just jealous)

What navigation system are you going to use in Africa?
I have done a bit of research if interested as we are planning the same trip in 2010 and also did some map work for people doing it now.

For users of Garmin, Navigational Mapping for all of Sth Africa is readily available. Have a look at this Link

There are much better and cheaper maps for Garmin map GPS's that the standard Garmin products for Africa. See www.tracks4africa.com/

Not actually going through Africa.
Nonetheless, I'm interested in where/how I might get/make maps for my SE Asia/China/Stans/Iran/Turkey passage. Any ideas?

It really depends if you are looking for raster or vector maps or both.
There us quite a group of people that are making Garmin maps for various parts of the world including Asia.
There are also people who run OziExplorer around the world that have maps.
You can take this off line if you want ronsmith@bigpond.com
