Question for those that know , finally got round to doing the upgrade from ME to XP , all systems are go except for cant seem to open pdf files , just get that little icon in the top l/hand corner ,who has the simple fix.

Uninstall whatever version of acrobat reader you have, then download reader 8 from www.adobe.com and install that.

Eureka !! it worked , thanking u., had too many versions on puter it woud seem , had from 3 thru to 6 with all the updates , working
well on 8 with all the rest removed.

down load acrobat from adobe. free. Or try this freebie primopdf.com which is supposed to convert any doc into pdf if you need to edit pdf docs.

While you are in the mood for improvements download this little gem:

it is excellent, run it to clean up all the garbage left from your perambulations around the web and it also has a very good registry cleaner. Yet to fault it.
It amazes me the guff that people manage to get past my firewall onto my hard drive.
Another gem that I like is AVG complete internet security, it captures all the tracking cookies that get sent to me....
