Hi Guys,
Could you please tell me if you consider a new Pathfinder (with upgraded tyres) up to the job in standard form to do
Mitchell Plateau &
Kalumburu?
thanks
Steve..

Generally... depth of the creek crossings would require some thinking about (presumably you can get a
snorkel for it), and the depth of the crossings depends on the time of year, and in quite a number of critical
places like
Pentecost River, the tide. You probably need to be able to ford at least 0.7m - perhaps a little more and be patient at high tide.
Of course, the roads need to be open, and you need to drive to the conditions.
Cheers
Andrew.

Steve,
We did it in an X-trail with ct. Left the ct at
King Edward River. It was early July when we were there and crossings were low.
Road conditions change from week to week so always
check with locals.

King Edward was up at about 0.9m when we were there are few weeks ago, but had come down to about 0.7m by the time we came back.
It doesn't take much rain to swell those waterways.

Try this site its more Pathfinder orientated, very helpful friendly people also.
www.pcoa.org.au - go to the
forum link and post tyour question there.
I have a current Pathfinder TDI with
suspension and tyre upgrades and it has proved to be a most capable 4wd on the tough Top End tracks around
Darwin and central NT
Good luck

Yes.
If it's not take it back for a refund.
King Edward river he only suspect spot and by late July that tends to be fairly low (and its very narrow) Just walk it first if in doubt and don't believe the depth marker.
Have fun - great area.
