Dear learned travellers,
Am planning on doing the gunbarrel early July, has anyone got any recent info on the state of the track? Is it badly corregated at present? Any general advice on the trip greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I crossed the Gunbarrel last year and drove it many years before.
It was graded once in the 1950's and that was it. Sometimes the Wiluina Shire
grader would work its way up to 150km past
Carnegie Station to the east in modern times, but then it reverts back to multiple tracks....you pick the best one......corrugations go on forever. So you either drive at 10kmh bounce, bounce, bounce, OR you travel at a speed that suits you to stay on top of the corrugations. Either way things rattle loose off your vehicle....lol
Enjoy
Cheers

Only the west end to about 100km past Carnigie is maintained regularly. After that it is usually badly corregated. You can get up to date info at
Wiluna and Carnigie Station.
