We are just back from about 11 weeks of touring, with about 6 weeks of fishing the Gulf (NT section). Had a ball and caught some great fish, plenty of crabs and a good feed of prawns. Life's tough.
We took about 3 weeks to get to
Borroloola from the
Gold Coast, fishing a number of
places along the way. We planned to spend a week or two at King Ash Bay then move on elsewhere on the Gulf. We enjoyed King Ash Bay so much, we stayed for 6 weeks. Would have stayed longer, but our son bought a house while we were away and we thought we'd come back and help him paint it before moving in. The things parents do!!
Got back to Mt Isa on the way
home and saw our Hilux on the front cover of 4WD Monthly - looking a lot cleaner than the one parked outside! A bit of light reading for that evening.
We enjoyed the trip so much, we a talking about doing a similar one next year, but staying in the Gulf area a lot longer. We'll see, but I'm using the word 'probably', while Kathryn is still using 'possibly'.
Got back to find my
membership expired, so I'm just visiting until that is sorted out.

Norm,
You missed out on the
membership rush, David went crazy and reduced the renewal and initial
membership cost and they went like hot cakes :)
If you do a search you'll find a post in regards to your Rig being on the cover of 4WD Monthly.
It is good to see that you had a great trip, the only problem is to now to get the ute back to its front cover glory.
Cheers Kev

Congats Norm, great feature on your rig, looks like she'd just come off the showroom floor! Probably doesn't look that way at the moment!

It's amazing what a good photographer can achieve Uncle. After the recent trip it will take several days of cleaning to get close to the look in the mag.

Welcome back, Norm & Kathryn. Did she do any sewing, Jenny wants to know? Or too busy cleaning fish?
Cheers, Ray

She did a fair bit of hand sewing Ray (patchwork type stuff). But she was pretty busy fisning. She came out with me every day I went except one.
