Paid the deposit on the D22 navara today, pick up on Sat. By then it will have the bull bar, tow bar &
snorkel fitted. The canopy will be another week as it has to be painted.
Question. How serviceable are the AT tyres that come with it or do I have to spend another $1000 plus for new BFG AT's. This will be for the trip to Flinders & Simpson in 4 weeks.

Wow sounds like a great trip on the way. Did you manage to not pay any Dealer Delivery on your new vehicle? As a matter or principle, I do hope so. After all, it's money in your popcket or towards the accessories etc.

Vince,
I have had my D22 since January. I have found the standard Bridgestone 693's OK for what I want. For medium off road work, they were more than good enough for me (for now). I am not into beating the c@#p out of my truck. A few weeks ago, tried the truck out on wet and muddy (read CLAY) tracks along with a mate in a Patrol with BFG A/T's.
Mine did everything his did, in fact I was quite surprised at how the tyres performed against his, mind you after 2 minutes in clay with A/T's, whatever the brand from what I have seen, they soon become slicks and you sit back and enjoy the ride !!! Airing down to 22psi made a big difference though. Haven't had the chance to try her out in sand yet, but from what I have read, they should be fine.
There would be no way I could justify removing 4 brand new tyres, getting stuff all trade in for them etc and then forking out the extra $ on another set of A/T. If I was to do that, I would be putting M/T's on. I will let my 693s wear out and then mull over which tyres to replace them with.
Just my two bobs worth.
Cheers,
Dave

I would have put a bit of pressure on the dealer to trade the original tyres on on wranglers or something. I did with my last 2 new rigs, Cost me $420 changeover.
If they don't come to the party which with enough pressure they will, try a local tyre supplier using originals as trade.
By the way congrates and best of luck with the Rig and the Trip.
