Evening All
I spent a few hours last night planning our trip to the
Warraweena Soiree on 7 July 07, and went to bed thinking how we would get there a day or two earlier than most, and have a look around etc etc .prior to getting into the serious ‘drinking and talking’.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeell! Trendsetters
Had a dream didn’t I, actually more like a nightmare.
I dreamt that Roachie was our trip leader and he was allegedly taking us on the ‘trip of a lifetime’.
For whatever reason, I woke up and never ever did get an outcome as to what Roachie ended up doing, however I can categorically state that I have been in groups that Roachie has lead on a number of occasions over the past year or two, and it always ends up at the ‘where the Faqwi’ tribes village seeking directions. (LOL)
If I see you putting on the Leaders hat Roachie, I am hiding in the long drop until you leave with your troops (Blind leading the Blind) ROFLMAO.
I will however be there in my official capacity as the YP 4WD clubs Mexican Ambassador, which has attached diplomatic immunity from all things bagging and hanging the Chit on.

So Lucy what your saying is ... whom ever is in Roachie's group should take this tip off to include, as an extra to thier camera ......warm cloths, extra food, drinks, sleeping gear, extra fuel if DDS (Disfunctional Direction Sysdrome) really kicks in with Roachie.
Of course it could all be a dream :) ROFL what a funny dream

Okay Mr Smarty Pants!!!!!!
I bought a 4 wheel drive so that I could see things that I might not have been able to get-to in a standard car. Now, I figure it wouldn't be a heck of a lot of fun if I took the most direct route to/from any particular destination. (side-note: This is kind-of the same reason I used to hit the little white ball from one side of the fairway to the other.....and sometimes even backwards.....when I used to play that stupid game known as "golf").......
However, I now realise that not everybody shares my desire to travel 400klm to get from A to B which may happen to be only 100 klm apart.
Sooooooo....the answer is; a compromise!!!!!
In future, I will only lead a trip in an "outward" direction. Once it is deemed by all concerned that I have successfully managed to find the WTFAreWe tribe, I shall (reluctantly) hand over the trip-leader duties to another participant; one with less diversity of mind.
In that way we will have the best of both worlds.......I will take you
places even YOU have never dreamt of and then somebody else (a boring old fart like Pesty for example) cna be in charge of using all manner of wizardry (eg: a map or maybe even a GPS) to get the group back to intended destination by the most direct (read "boring") route known to man.......
Geez I never cease to amaze myself.............;-)))))

I am not going to miss a thing.
And by the way I hopefully ironed out all my 'hiccups' at the OBC.
So I'll be free to concentrate on you.

Lake Torrens 'a few weeks ago'.
Could you please elucidate further, especially regards the geographically lost thing whilst attempting to prove a 10tonne Chev 'walks on water'
Any pics of this alleged occurrence.

The 'eyes of a 1000' will be upon you this weekend Roachie, all watching, waiting for you to 'perform'.
Me, I think I'll just bury myself in a case of Cascade 'lemonades' with Brew and let it all pass me by.
Now if you could/can just lead the Aussie Chef to
Warraweena without any mishaps then allowances will be made.
SWMBO has just ordered me to stop bagging you and get off the puter.

Heh you lot you have all got it wrong.
I can tell you from many painful experiences DONT let Roachy lead in the first place!!!
For one he will always be almost outa radio range from the group cos he will be way off with the pixies.
He gets geographicly misplaced with regular manotomy.
You pull up for a chat at a place of interest and Roachy is pulling out , he has let Annette out for a 4.6 sec photo and hes gone outa there, probably so we dont see him with the crank handle jammed in the front of the old chev truck gettin it going again. LOL
See ya all there Fridee night, Pesty

OK So I've been on little trips that Roachie has been on BUT I've never been on one where he has been trip leader. It could be an interesting experience. LOL.
I do recall a club trip to Tiddy Widdy Beach and he turned up 36hours late. At the time, I just thought that he had other things to do as it was only about 40k's away from his place. Now I realise that he was so lost that he took that much time to get there. Geez Roachie, you are a worry.

As a professional dream reader Lucy, I can tell you, you are one very mixed up soul. For starters, dreaming about one of your fellow 4wd mates is a sign of your desire to get down and dirty more often at
home and for this I feel sorry for you, flowers should fix that problem.
Then there is the point about Roachie leading, this is your inner self struggling with the fact that a Toyota owner is worthy of the position of trip leader but rarely is given this esteemed role. I'm sorry ol son but there is a reason for this and it is something that needs to be understood by you. The fact that your dream never got an outcome is re-enforcement that this point will never change.
I am a bit surprised that you confess to lurking around public ammenities on a website like this, but then, Toyota owners never cease to amaze me with thier train of thought most days.
I would rather find out about the wherethefugawi tribe on a foray as opposed to being part of the fugantooscared tribe that never go out of the comfort zone.
I will look forward to
Warraweena and "hanging the chit", as a non-member of the YP 4wd club I have diplomatic immunity when it comes to all manner of dealing with ambassadors of said club. ROFLMAO
See you there with state pride showing. All TIC of course.
Trevor.

Ah! Dr. Trev.
I see your 'dream interpretations' are designed to unhinge the patient to such an extent, that they have to sign on for a years consultations during which you do your utmost to convince them that Nissans aren't the overheating poormans version of a 4WD that they are and not worth a pinch of chit.
This is called 'brain washing' and false advertising, especially if you manage to subvert one of these poor souls into trading their far superior Toyota for a 'Missan Nissan'
Hmmmmmmm! I can see an US & THEM
camp coming up (LOL)
See you there.

Trevor, Will you promise to do me a favour please? On any trips we go on, can you act as tail-end-charlie and pick up any toyota bits that you find laying on the road? If you find any whole toyotas that have expired (quite likely), please push them off to one side of the track (next to all the others that will no doubt be there already).
In particular, it is likely there will be an Endless Air compressor that will fall off the droop-carrier from hell (or is Lucky bringing the Jeepney to
Warraweena?) and probably a funny looking toboggan-type thing which will be the bonnett off the droopy. hahahahaha
Oh, I am sooooo looking forward to seeing how many toyotas expire on the weekend........hahaha

Tail-end-charlie is my usual role up here as
well. Even us QLD'rs understand the need to have a reliable back-up for those less than fortunate souls that put up with the pitfalls of "the other 4wd" so as to be able to enjoy the fruits of a real 4by.
I too will not be fulfilled until at least one yota lets it's owner down. So long as Mr Lucy brings that overweight bucket of bolts along, I am sure I will go
home happy. :-)))))))))) CYA's there.

Aw! Skippy
That was definitely below the belt, but I Like it.
Roachie is a never ending reason/incentive to visit SA on a Regular basis cause there is always a new Roachie story on the 'shoot the chit' agenda.
Actually I will be bringing up the re-arranging, panel beating, re-profiling of the gull wing door on the rear tray of the 'crank handle' started Chevy he drives.
It will be top item of the camp fire story telling agenda because apparently no one who witnessed this event is allowed to talk about it when he is around. Must have been a real 'embarrassment' event.
See you all there.

You'll have to refer to my Rig Page to have a look at piccy's 10, 11 and 12. The one with the 3 handsome dudes man-handling the door, was taken only a few minutes after the actual event.
