Ok I`ve known about "it" for some time, but on the W/E it all got to much!!!! deployed a new 12ft X12ft tarp... come time to refold it I thought I`d fold it along the original creases (yeah right) & to add to my misery there was a bit of a breeze blowing... After about 6 attempts I gave up!!! & folded it the way most normal people would!! WHY "they" choose to fold their tarps the way they do is beyond me... Must be an oriental thing!!!!. While I`m on about things Chinese, have one of them look-a-like
Southern Cross jobs, it has lost it`s waterproof ability due to mildew. Can the canvas be reconditioned, if so how???

Mate, fold it as suits the day. Each fold weakens fibres.
Where does your favourite old map break first?
I try to roll my tarps on a bit of 90mm pipe: certainly reduces wear - 'till it slips off the ute and drags along behind.......
Chinese not so thick, eh.
Lay-de-Loosie, I see you're back in excellent form: where ya been?

I have a tin of canvas waterproofing stuff that I have been waiting years to use cos it says not to use on new canvas. The canvas on the camper trailer is still in excellent shape and anyway I use a fly to cover the whole rig and provide a canopy to boot.
There are proprietry concoctions you only have to ask a canvas seller. You will get better info than the likes of me can offer.
