Hey Shane why do you think they say NO you cant fit a 9KG gas bottle on the drawbar because when you fold the bed down it will hit and thats why we will supply 2x 4.5 KG brackets and 1x 4.5 KG bottle ...to find out when you get home that the 9 KG bracket and bottle fit just FINE!!! ...with about 70 mm still to go , now no need to swap lines over when 1 emptys and yes I have a gauge on the bottle and why dont they design the dinning table for one half to fold so you have no dramas walking past to get into bed very simple I think and why is there not another access hatch on the rear van under bed compartment like the front one ??

I suppose its all about the bottom line and yeah we can do it our selves later ??

Cheers J.B.

Hi Jonny Boy,
You reminded me of the table issue, i requested that it be hinged in half so when not in use it was out of the way, and they did it for no charge Your dealer seems to not have been to obliging and assisting you with your queries and requests.

Hi Johnny Boy,

My 2001 Rapid came standard with a single 9kg bottle that I was always going to get converted to 2 x 4.5kg. I found that I either filled up when the bottle is not empty or it ran out. I reckon its an improvement with the 2 x 4.5kg IMHO but then again I had a compressor fridge thus only used a bottle every year or so.

Cheers

Captain

johnny boy, the table is an issue but a hinge for about $15.oo fixes that or i fitted a fridge slide so it can be moved right out the way. i had two 4.5 fitted to mine at no charge and the hatch could have been added if requested but this is no different than other vans. they do as little as possible.

Hi Shane
I did get 2 brackets but they said only 1 bottle supplied so when I got home I cut the 2 brackets off and put the 9 in and yes I have been looking around for some bench top that will match ours as I dont want to cut the origanal and at the same time Im going to make an extentionon on the top of the fridge so when we travel the DVD , and set top dont go flying I just want it all to look like it came out of the factory that way and as for the hatch well I can buy and put in my self but I still think this is all bottom line related :)

Cheers J.B.

hi johnny boy, i think your right about the bottom line, when did you buy your van and what model is it? also what did you do about the gap in the canvas where it meets the van at the top?

Hi Shane,
I compressed a small block of foam, pushed it neatly into position and then it expanded to the opening and sits there securely.

Hi Shane, Mine is a 2006 I bought it in september last year and I did notice a tad of light through the canvas and now Im going to buy that block of foam you guys are using just in case !!! another thing that has happend is the first time it rained it leaked on my boys head and I found that the foam that they think would seal the sail track that holds the cavas to the van for the swing up lid on the bed ,so I had to put a neat bead of silicone on while I was away thats when I discoverd the wonderfull silicon job on the pop top ( have any of you guys seen your roof top ) because Im curiouse to hear if it is common ?

Hi J.B.
If you are referring to the large blobs and what appears to be roughly applied silicone smeared around joints etc ? Yes i have seen it and also around my solar panels silicone is piled up around brackets and screws. This is not something to be concerned about as the unsightly nature is out of every day sight. I'm in the building game and use these silicones on a regular basis. The wider they are spread and thicker they are applied the better protection they give. If they were neatly spread and only the minumum applied i would be then concerned. As I've had no leaks and are not likely to either with the mass of silicone on my roof, it's another plus from Windsor.
Ive had no problems with the canvas strip but i live in Vic and we hav'nt had much rain here in the last few years !!! Ha.
Regards from Col.
