Gday fellow enthusiasts, need to pick your brains once again,,has anybody had an experience changing the water pump on a 4D55t Pajero? (84) i have a tiny hole in what i think is the body of the water pump,(just an inch forward of the thermostat housing) in a small circular depression about the size of a 20cent piece. I was wondering what the degree of difficulty was and how many points the judges will award me if i attempt this harrowing feat,,,,, Suggestions please, Cheers, Earwig.

Nothing specific to your Padj, but it kinda depends on how mechanical, and how broke you are.
The water pump is a very important bit of kit, and 4wds seem to have em in very hard to work in
places, with a heap of things to take out and replace.
If not very mechanical, save up and get a good mech to do it, then drive around secure that the job has been done properly and your pride and joy is fine.
If broke, beg borrow or steal a handbook and go from there. If not mechanical when starting, you will be by the time you're finished :((

Footloose is on the right track re looking up a handbook. Better still get a workshop manual from your local library ,
check to see if they can source one from an adjacent library if your one does not have one. Regards G.T.
