Hi to you all …..
I’m a new member to this great website from Saudi Arabia and I am into camping big time.

I’d like to share with you my experience with a 145 Liter water tanks I purchased last year.

And its features are:
145 liter * 5 yrs NO PLASTIC TASTE guaranteed * 12 kg weight * made of Polyethylene * 7 mm thickness * suits all sort of 4WD vehicles.

The price was 450 $ (Australian Dollars)
Dimensions: Length 950 mm Height 530 mm Width (top) 200 mm (bottom) 400mm

What do you all think of it and is the price competitive to the price in Australia? Your feedback highly appreciated.
check out this link of pictures i know you guys might not know Arabic language but you can just check out the pics.

Saudi Camper, it looks a pretty solid piece of gear and I would have thought price competitive. There are quite a few options for water tanks, but I don't think I have seen one like that. It would be better I would have though to keep the weight lower and forward if posible, but I know you can't always do that. In some ways, good behind the rear seat.

Does it have an internal baffle so the water doesn't slop around inside?

Dear JohnR

as far as ther wieght is concened i believe it's not an issue ..

regarding the baffles... it has none.

but let me tell you something the tank is very heavy duty and tough i have hit the tank with a hammer as hard as could .. and guess what .. the tank did not break at all.
thanks.

SCamper the issue of the baffles is just something to be wary of in unstable conditions with a 3/4 tank of water where the shift in weight can be sudden to the outside of a curve or your downhill side reducing the surety you feel driving,

Keep safe.

I have one 80 ltr plastic tank in my Landcruiser, it cost A$110, I could fit another and have 160lts for $220 . the link shows what they look like with specs.

dear Doug

i have seen alot of water tanks types but this one does not take up space as the others do since it slides up behind the middle seat.

thanks

I'd be guessing you don't have to mount them with the curved side down, as under a truck tray, as there is a bung top and bottom. they could sit 'upsidedown' with outlets leading to a nice pressure pump in the back of a wagon.

That is correct Tim, I have mine as per the photo above, the top outlet is breather only, the must be able to expel air when filling yje way I do it, and also must be able inhale as water is used, so my at my outlet I have a T piece, one to the tap for gravity feed and reverse fill and the other to a pump for showering, not this time of year though BBbbrrrrr , The breather I have fitted a hose to a tap with clip on fitting and small tap so I can turn off the breather if needed, I connect a short piece of garden hose to it when filling so when it is full the water don't end up inside the car ,so when the tank is filled to capacity I turn breather of so it don't also run out as if going up a steep dune etc , after the level gets down I leave it open , See the photo's of the taps and where my tank is

Great photos, looks pretty secure with cables and turn buckles. For those of you with Internet Explorer V7 (or so), when viewing the link site, RIGHT CLICK the mouse button and select Translate into English. The translation is pretty literal however it gives you a bit of an idea on the thread.

dear all

thanks for the replies.

i have one important question for you all

the tank has no baffles so here goes my questions

how important are the baffles in a 145 liter water tank?is it dangerous since it has no baffles? are baffles a must ? will you go for this tank ? will you pay 450$ for it or you think it's expansive? and if you think it's expansive how much would you pay for it?

i thought i had only one question but somehow it became 6 questios. sorry :)

replies are appreciated?
