This info might save someone some extra work and or dollars, I had to replace the speedo cable, it broke about 3 inches up from the Transfer Case end, Now 18 months ago I had it makeing a noise and the needle was jumping so I extracted the cable, lubricated it and replaced it , should have put a new ome in there and then, this time I could not retrieve it so I removed the dash section and pulled it out from that end but still the bottom end was blocked so then I had to remove the old casing and replace it too , so I reackon one should pull it out from the bottom every 200,000 klm and feed a new one in , lot easier than what I had to do today,

Toyota solved that problem - the later 7x series have electronic sender - no cable.

And my Tachometer is a bit lazy on the cold morning we've had here. Doesn't operate till it warms up (5 or 10 minutes)...
I guess they are elec operated ???
Any clues???
