Has anyone come across (and used) a combined rear vision camera system and GPS. I saw one today sold by Polaris but thought the vision on the screen was very inferior to other rear vision camera screens I have seen. We want to add a camera to both our tow vehicle and van. Having a unit that doubles as a GPS unit is very attractive because of keeping clutter in the car to a minimum.

Thanks for any advice

HI Highlands, we have the combination, its a Kenwood system which has the DVD/CD, GPS, Reverse camera for both car and caravan, the camera on the caravan is also audio so that the driver can hear another person at the rear of the van without shouting. When not in use it folds away neatly into the dash, we fell in love with it as soon as we saw it as we were trying to keep clutter and temptation (if you know what I mean) off of the dash.
If you want more info, email me.

Cheers

Many thanks D. I'm not able to send you an email directly so I'm hoping you will check this thread. Your Kenwood system sounds wonderful. Could you tell me what model it is and what you think of the quality of the vision on the screen

Thanks again

Hi again, the system that we have is:

DVD/CD: KVT-747DVD

GPS: KNA-G430 with Garmin navigation system.

Camera:
Nessa mini camera for back of the Patrol
Nessa Out Door Box Camera for back of the caravan.

The screen is great, no problems with seeing it at all but of course that depends also where it is placed in the vehicle, if it grabs the sun there could be problems. ours has been put in where the old CD/tape/ radio was.

Questions? What vehicle do you have? there is a problem with Patrols or any vehicle with spare tyre on the back door but we have got ours (after much consideration) just above the tow ball, if you have a Patrol let me know and I will send a pic.

What State are you in? if WA I can let you know where we got our system and also get fantastic after sales service. We knew nothing about GPS's and we are still going back for help and he is still helping us as if we were about to buy.
By the way we have no affiliation with this company just heard about them by word of mouth.

Hope this has helped.

Cheers

D

Hello D

Apologies for not responding sooner - I've been out of my office for a couple of days. Thanks for the details.I will follow up on them. We drive a Pajero NP.

Thank you, too, for your very kind offer for us to have a look at your system. We are in the Southern Highlands in NSW so, unfortunately, we won't be able to take up your offer. You have, however, been a great help. Thanks for that.

G'Day Highlands,

Forget the Polaris one,

Picture crap.

People on other forums trying to get a refund due to poor quality.

The is only for the combined unit

Regards
