Greetings, I have a tech talk issue. Both my rear door electric windows fail to raise once open. At times they will eventually if a finger is kept on the 'up' pressure. It is not the regulators. I have replaced the electric motors and lubed the window guides. I have narrowed it down to what I reckon is the wiring because if I remove the motor from the regulator spline but leave it electronically connected and then actuate the pressure switch, the motor will either fail to rotate or very slowly rotate. If I swap them around they still function for the downward movement and at times for the upward movement. Can anyone who may have experienced this dilema before please provide advice, as it is frustrating and with a trip to Cape York in 3 months, the kids need to feel the beauty with the windows down. Regards

been here done that. i found it was usually the conections at the back of the motors. if you remove door skin and push window button whilst giggling the two wires that go into the back of the motor, it works fine. however this is stupid in practice as its impossible to do and drive.
in the end, i removed mine and went to manual as would hate for them to fail when down and have to do river crossing or starts to rain. or imagine them stopping in the up position on a 40 deg day!!!!

Yep I have had that problem to. Have a four legged friend who travels on the back seat and puts its paws on the switch. Dog hairs , desert dust and other stuff get in down there past the switch.

Remove switch and wiring. Clean, spray with WD40. No further problems. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Cheers

im not toooootaly stupid guys! sprayed connections, sanded connections, replaced all connections, eventually the problem stuffed 3 of the motors and fryed 2 of the switches, as th when i flicked the switch the power still tried to go through it, with nowhere to go. smoke actually came out of them!

im not saying that cleaning them wont work for you, but if it keeps happening, this is where you will end up.

new motors = $300 - $400 EACH!!!
manual winders = $50 a pair, new on ebay.
plastic handle for winder = $5 each at hall 4x4 salvage

hope this helps!!
