Hi all
Just wanted to know have a deposit on a 98 jackaroo 3lt td. What are they like. I heard of a few leaks in the motor causing them to blow, is it likely and if they have had a recall and had the cylinders changed then ok??
I know a little low but i hear a real good performer for what they are???
Thoughts
cheers troyza

Petrol or diesel.
From what I hear, diesel needs to run on the right oil, otherwise can be early problems with the injection system.

Check and see if it had the recall on the injector seals other than that good all round vehicle.

Eulo we like to stick together us Isuzu people, but have it checked out though you would with any second hand vehicle.

My 2000 TD Jackaroo is sitting in the driveway broken down again.

They are a great truck but you just have to be a bit knowlegeable in what you drive...there alot of mechanics out there that arent and did alot of damage to these vehicles when they were first introduced.
A good load of information can be found at the Autralian 4wd
forum.

All the best. Matt.

Jump onto the above link ASAP - it may change your mind about purchasing the vehicle. That's coming from a TD Jackaroo owner (99)

Make sure you get two sets of keys with it Troyza. We got one key with our '99 J'roo and meant to get another set 'one day'
well . . . Murphy came to visit, didn't he, and the key went missing a month ago. Stuck at
home with useless 'roo, and Holden dealer couldn't do a thing to help other than order a new one, would call when it arrived. Found key six days later, but it took Holden TWO . .yes . . 2 weeks to get the other key and finally find a slot in their workshop schedule to enable it. Other than that our 'roo has not given us any trouble and done everything we have asked of it. The 'roo had travelled around Australia before we bought it and we tow a fairly heavy trailer with it, (loaded with 320 ltrs water, 60 ltrs diesel, 20 ltrs petrol and all the needs of three adults and a dog, for as long as we want) it hasn't baulked yet -cross-my-fingers!

Troyza Hi,
I did a lot of research before buying a 3.5 petrol Jack. The petrols are a superb motor, smooth very powerfull and reasonable on fuel and they are very longlived 400000ks plus if serviced.
Now the bad news sorry, after my research I decided I could not afford to run a diesel Jack because of their finicky problems. I know some people love them but If you gave me one I would not touch it. BUT I do love my 3.5 its quicker than the bosses v8 100.
Do a lot of research before you hand the balance of the money over and I would not be paying more than $13000.00
Good luck Pete
