The 'new' Qantas toy- the Airbus 380 just broke thru the clouds overhead here. Geez it sure is a big machine- a Cessna on steroids (HEAPS of steroids)..
And it doesn't make a lot of noise.
Oh- and that show of the History of Aussie Aviation is on ABC tonite.

Has Airbus actually delivered any yet?

Or just the one demonstrator!

Fair nuff,

I don't think QANTAS receive their first one until next year or the year after!

I think Singapore Airlines are top of the list this year some time.

QANTAS might get it cheap being a demonstrator.

Ahhhhh the French Chainsaw :-)

What's the difference between an Airbus and a beaver?

4000 trees per hour :-)

(Referring to the A320 prang at Habsheim 1988)

Qantas has 20 on order and there are 3 ? test aircraft all with the prefix MSN. The 380 is behind schedule for delivery to all the buyers and they are all looking for compensation. From memory they are 18 months behind. The Qantas signs are stickers (big stickers) and they change them for when the test aircraft fly into the particular customers home port. Carrying 525 passengers it is more like a cattle truck than a aircraft.
