Anyone put a 2nd battery under the bonnet of a 99 to 04 Hilux. Not much room there. TJM sell a cradle for them but not strong enough for heavy off road use such as corrugations on long desert trips.

Space is very limited with the diesel, I feel if you can't get 90 amp hours under the bonnet then fit a portable pack.

There are 3 units on the market that will do 100 amp hours.

Regards

Derek.

Thanks for that info Derek. You're a bit too far from me to supply. I'm south of Melbourne.
Who would you recommend down here?

We ship goods every day but try Home of 12V they are closer to you.

Just make sure to get the heavy duty charge cable, I think it is sold as an extra.

Hi Twinkles,

I see Derek is on the ball but if you don't want to go down the underbonnet track, I have a flyer pack which I brought from Derek in the back of my 04 Hilux and it is great.

Pretty simple to set up and the portability is great as well.

Headed in that direction but all advice was that it wouldn't fit. Finished up with it in the tray under the 'floor' of the drawer system. No problems with the arrangement. Did have an ARB aircompressor fitted under the bonnet.

Good Luck
John
