Any one near Newcastle better get down to Nobbys Beach they might need your help cutting up the ship anyone doing any metal fabrication over the weekend say building a new box trailer there about 40000 tons of steel sitting on the beach

Interesting that it allegedly had it's engines running at full power and were still unable to cope with the wind ... it has 40,000 tonne capacity and I guess when it's empty it is making a pretty big sailing ship.

Apparently another one is headed for Stockton Beach.

Someone had emptied the ballast tanks! It was like a balloon on the top floating, the props couldnt get any drive..

770tons of diesel on board - I say lets get there with truck loads of 44's and syphon it!

Well the Sygna is just about gone from where it beached on Stocko in 1974, I hope this one wont be around that long.

The roads up to the beach where she lies are blocked and traffic around town east end is chaos.

Wonder if those blokes from India are interested in some scrap metal.

This could cause a major disaster for the coast if it starts to break up. I have never seen weather like what we are experiencing around Newcastle at present. There has been in excess of 150mm in rain since 7am this morning in most areas on the coast with a reported 220mm around the Maitland area.

I got home at lunch time to find our 12metre gum tree lying across our driveway and the next door neighbours driveway.

The other two ships appear to have got through the worst of it.
