Please correct me if im wrong in this. My trailer has an anderson plug that takes charges the on board battery. I have a Hilux 2003 Petrol and want to charge while towing and having the fridge on 12v
Is this ok....run heavy gauge wire 16mm direct from battery in hilux through a fuse 20amp say or breaker direct to the anderson plug. Is that it nothing more to do?
Appreciate your help have searched the subject and just making sure I have read it right.

Do you have a AUX battery already on the Hilux? Do you have a Isolator switch or soledoid? You probably need to put some sort of isolator switch manual or auto then a circuit breaker then you should be able to run the power cable back to your anderson plug. The larger cable size you use the better so you don't get too much of a voltage drop over that distance.

I recenty put a battery isolator under the bonnet ran some pretty decent gauge (4BS maybe) back to the ute tub with a 100a circuit breaker in between which I have going to a 90ah battery to run my fridge. From that I ran 8BS cable to an anderson plug for my trailer, but I'm not running a fridge or anything significant on my trailer.
