I had a set of pedders shocks put in my Prado 18 Months ago and one has already blown. I am looking at replacing them with Rancho 5000 shocks. The vehicle is standard height and i have no intention of raising it but I will probably add poly airs soon. Has any one had good/bad experiences with this brand / combo.
Thanks in advance Matt.

I would say yes but I also have fitted a heavier set of rear springs and poly air bags in the rear .I have a drawer and fridge slde unit + fridge and heaps of other junk in the back + recovery gear and I find the ride ferm , I have found that this set up works very well when towing the caravan it is an older unit 16.5 ft so quite heavy but it rides very well hope this helps (my 4x4 is a four runner )Born to drive a 4x4 , not a keyboard

I have, in our 2002 Prado. just had ARB instal a new Susp kit with new Coils and Old Man shocks - leaving for the cape on Wednesday and could not be happier with the 4WD Service Centre (Michael King) at taren Point.

Matt,
I run rancho rs5000's on my disco and rs 9000's on my patrol. I swear by them. %000'sd should be perfect for your needs.

If you want to fit them yourself, Wolf Offroad does the shocks for $118 each at the moment or 9000's for $178 ea. You might just need the adapter kits. Try bretton1@bigpond.com (Wolf Offroad) or Michael on 0413 454 413, tell him Brett sent you.

Good luck
Brett
