We have a Garmin emap hand held and a Garmin Nuvi 310 in car sat nav and have been trying to enter the Way points for the
Canning Stock Route but cannot enter some. Our set up is hdd mm.mmm but the first m will not go above 5 and some of the waypoints are higher eg 24.852306S
Could someone please tell me how to overcome this problem please
Thanks Lou

The number you are trying to enter is decimal degrees (dd.ddddd) and your format id degrees and decimal minutes (dd mm.mmmm), so your GPS is expecting a value for minutes (max of 59) and you are trying to enter a decimal part of a dgree which can go up to .9999 etc.

Actually - that means that your "successfully" entered values may be way out - you would have entered deciaml degrees with the decimal part less than 0.6, and your GPS would have taken that as minutes. Just set your GPS to dd.ddddd and re-enter all your waypoints.

Thank you Rod, does that also mean that the waypoints for the Anne Beadell Hway should be in that format also. On the track notes on exploroz they are shown differently from the Canning track notes.

Yes - some of them, at least. The list at the end of the "Driving Notes" section is in dd mm.mmm, while the "Waypoints" section is in dd.ddddd. You'll need to change the format in your GPS for each of those sets. Just look for the "space" between the degrees and the next value - if there's a space, the next figue will be minutes; if there's no space, then you're dealing with decimal degrees.
You have to be careful: if you type in 23 50, your GPS may interpret that as 23.5 degrees, or 23 degrees 50 minutes, depending on the format you chosen in the GPS. That's a significant difference on the ground.
