Hi again
Just read the add in 4x4 may 07 pg 113 about the "magic filter funnel" supposed to take water out of fuel with its stainless steel teflon filter.
Does anyone have any comments on how good it realy is or is there a similar but better product?
Regards
GN

Hi GN
it is very good, it does the job, when it come to diesel anyway. But you shouldn't have problem if you have petrol (sorry to say if you touring Australian Outback diesel is the best). You can buy the funnel in 3 sizes. For 4WD is much better to buy minimum mid size, so you don't spend your holiday at the servo taking the full.
Cheers

I have experience of using funnels with gauze filter and petrol. Oil and petrol create a lot of surface tension on water and it wont go past the filter. Try a small experiment if you are not sure, too much water will block the filter altogether so you have to tip it off and start again.

Hi GN,
i bought the one from Mr. Funnel in the US and yes it does work , separates the Unleaded and the water.
I took it with me last time but gave up at maree because it is a pain the the backside to fill your vehicle at the bowser with the funnel. You will have petrol all over you. I am still working on a solution so that i dont stick like a petrol sniffer after filling up.
Good luck
